Also known as: Vitamin B3, Nicotinamide
What it actually does
A form of vitamin B3 commonly used in cosmetic formulations to help even out the look of skin tone, support the appearance of pores and contribute to a more comfortable-feeling barrier.
How to use it
Use morning and night after cleansing and toning. Safe daily at 2–5%. Higher percentages (10%+) can trigger flushing in sensitive skin — start lower.
The science, in plain English
A form of Vitamin B3 studied for helping regulate the look of oil, support even-looking post-blemish marks, and contribute to a more comfortable-feeling skin barrier.
Myth vs reality
It does not shrink pores permanently — regulating the look of oil can make pores appear less prominent, which is a different thing.
Limitations of the evidence
Available evidence reasonably supports cosmetic-level tone and oil-balance benefits at commonly used concentrations; it does not permanently change pore size.
Who may need extra caution
A minority of users report temporary flushing at higher percentages.
